Northridge Local School District welcomes new board members

The Northridge Local School District Board of Education in Johnstown, Ohio, has introduced three new members. During its Organizational Meeting on January 13, 2026, Jessica Cermak, Rachel Smith, and Andrew Williams were sworn in. They join Evelyn Vance and Kate Creager, who were elected in 2023. The board is committed to empowering students to reach their potential.

Kate Creager was chosen as President of the Board of Education, while Rachel Smith was elected Vice President. Smith has lived in the district since 2009 and has been an active volunteer since 2018. She owns The TravelSmith Travel Agency and holds a degree from Wilmington College. "I look forward to working alongside my fellow board members to make thoughtful decisions that allow our students to thrive," said Smith.

Jessica Cermak values community and student success. "I am motivated to serve on the school board because I believe strong schools strengthen the entire community," she said. Andrew Williams brings experience in corporate sales and community service. He works for Wright-Patt Credit Union and emphasized his commitment to providing resources for all students.

Returning members Vance and Creager expressed enthusiasm about the new additions, highlighting collaboration as key to guiding the district forward. Creager remarked on the positive future ahead: "Together, we look forward to a positive future built on collaboration, growth, and success for every student in our district."
