Food for the Hungry - Mount Vernon has announced that its 2025 drive raised $394,301.89 and collected 23.5 truckloads of food, surpassing the initial goal of $340,000. Austin Swallow, President of Food for the Hungry, expressed gratitude to Knox County residents for their contributions. "Words cannot really express the gratitude that the board of Food For The Hungry feels today as we announce this marvelous 2025 total," Swallow said.

The drive's success is attributed to community support and partnerships with local organizations such as Interchurch Social Services and the Salvation Army of Mount Vernon. These groups, along with multiple food pantries and hot meal programs in Knox County, have benefited from the donations. "As the world around us constantly seems to change, it is heartwarming to know that the citizens of Knox County continue to care for their friends and neighbors," Swallow added.

The funds and food items donated during this campaign will assist many people in need throughout Knox County. More information about their efforts can be found on their website.Food For the Hungry 2025 Drive total | Image provided
