John P. Ruckman of Mount Vernon, Ohio, has been elected Vice President of the Ohio Auctioneers Association for 2026. The election took place during the association's annual conference on January 9th and 10th in Columbus, Ohio. Ruckman owns and is the principal auctioneer at The Ruckman Group Auctions & Appraisals, a family-run business in Knox County, Ohio.

Ruckman has previously served as a Director and Treasurer of the association, roles in which he provided financial oversight and contributed to long-term fiscal planning. His election to Vice President indicates continued confidence from his peers in his leadership and commitment to the auction industry.

In his new role, Ruckman will help guide the association's strategic direction, support education and professional development, and uphold ethical standards for auctioneers across Ohio. He will also engage in legislative activities related to Ohio's auctioneer licensing framework.
