Knox County hosts MLK breakfast with Ronald C. Todd as keynote speaker

The Knox County community is set to commemorate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the annual MLK Commemorative Breakfast on January 19 at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. The event, themed "The Audacity to Believe," will feature Ronald C. Todd, Chief of Social Impact & Opportunity at the Ohio Department of Development, as the keynote speaker.

Todd, who has a background in public service and community leadership, will discuss Dr. King's vision and its relevance today. He has served as Governor DeWine’s Minority Affairs Liaison and co-chairs the Governor’s RecoveryOhio Minority Health Working Group.

Mount Vernon Nazarene University is hosting this event in collaboration with Kenyon College and the MLK Legacy Committee. The university is a member of both the Crossroads League and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. It emphasizes community service and global outreach through its programs.

Mount Vernon Mayor Dr. Matt Starr addresses the crowd gathered at Kenyon College for last year’s annual Knox County MLK Commemorative Breakfast.

Local leaders such as Dr. Matthew T. Starr, Mayor of Mount Vernon; Leeman Kessler, Mayor of Gambier; Dr. Julie Kornfeld, President of Kenyon College; and Dr. Carson Castleman, President of Mount Vernon Nazarene University, will also offer remarks during the breakfast.

The event is open to all members of the public who wish to reflect on Dr. King's impact and commit to fostering justice and equality in society.
