The Licking County Board of Commissioners appointed five members to represent the county on the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) during its December 30 meeting.
According to the commission's agenda, directors of three county departments were among the appointees: Carson Combs, who heads the Licking County Planning Department; Matt Allison, the Licking County Transit director; and Cameron Garczyk, the director of GROW Licking County. The commissioners also appointed Jersey Township Administrator Robb Platt and Lisa McCutcheon, an educator with the Licking County Ohio State University Extension.
According to its website, MORPC is a Central Ohio regional council with a core responsibility to facilitate its transportation planning process. The council said that they are "experts in research and forecasting, public policy, facilitating funding and financing, and acting as a bridge to convene and connect local governments to work collaboratively to drive holistic regional value."
The MORPC website indicates that the organization will hold a regional data roundtable this month on January 13 at its headquarters at 111 Liberty St., Columbus.
