The Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) Music Department will hold a traditional Advent worship service on Wednesday, December 3, at 7:15 p.m. The event will take place in the R.R. Hodges Chapel/Auditorium and is open to the public at no cost.
The service is modeled after the Service of Nine Lessons and Carols from the Anglican Church tradition. It will feature scripture readings by members of the MVNU community and an Advent devotional led by Rev. Dave Mills, who serves as MVNU’s Vice President for Spiritual Life & Church Relations.
Music for the evening will include performances by Dr. Rebecca Abbott on organ and several ensembles from the university's music department. The program will begin with a combined group performance of “Come Thou Long Expected Jesus.”
