The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's basketball team continued their winning streak with a close victory against the University of Michigan Dearborn, finishing 94-91. The game took place on Wednesday, November 12, in Dearborn, Michigan.

In the first half, both teams scored heavily, with UM-Dearborn leading 48-44 at halftime. MVNU's shooting percentage was 54.5%, and they made six three-pointers at a rate of 42.9%. However, MVNU struggled with 13 turnovers in the first half, allowing the Wolverines to maintain their lead.

The second half saw intense competition as UM-Dearborn managed a 10-0 run to lead 79-72 with less than nine minutes remaining. MVNU regained a one-point advantage after Devin Dreier's layup when trailing by one point with under four minutes left. Isaiah Brown's tip-in gave MVNU an edge at 86-84.

Despite UM-Dearborn briefly taking the lead again, Brown's layup and Trent Koning's free throws secured MVNU's win in the final moments. The Wolverines had two opportunities to tie the game but were unable to capitalize.

Peyton Heiss led MVNU with a career-high of 25 points and contributed nine rebounds and four assists. Dreier added 16 points and five rebounds, while Koning scored 18 points along with nine assists and four steals. Brown also made significant contributions with 14 points and seven rebounds.

Coach Ronai commented on the performance: "It was ugly, but we found a way. Winning on the road presents a multitude of challenges. We obviously have much to work on and improve."

Next up for MVNU is a homecoming game against the University of Northwestern Ohio on Friday, November 14, at Ariel Arena.
