Women’s Volleyball Team | MVNU

The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's volleyball team, ranked 12th nationally, secured a spot in the Crossroads League Championship by defeating Marian University in straight sets. The match took place at Ariel Arena on November 12. MVNU, entering as the second seed, faced Marian, the sixth seed.

Marian initially led the first set 14-10 before MVNU tied it at 14-14 with a block from Libby Evanshine and Eliana Morgan. The Lady Cougars maintained their momentum to win the set 25-17. In the second set, after leading 18-13, MVNU allowed Marian to tie and take a lead of 23-20. However, MVNU managed to win the set in a close 30-28 finish. The third set saw MVNU dominate with a decisive 25-13 victory.

Evanshine was pivotal for MVNU with 15 kills, while Evelyn Brown and Faith Maloney contributed significantly with 12 and ten kills respectively. Jaelyn Tang recorded notable defensive stats with 16 digs and three service aces. Reagan Nuss excelled in playmaking with 38 assists.

MVNU will face top-seeded Indiana Wesleyan in the championship match on November 15 in Marion, Indiana.
