Mount Vernon Nazarene advances to semifinals after sweeping Bethel

The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's volleyball team secured a spot in the Crossroads League Semifinals after defeating Bethel University in a quarterfinal match held at Ariel Arena. The Lady Cougars, ranked No. 12 and seeded second in the conference, overcame an early deficit to win three straight sets against seventh-seeded Bethel.

Bethel initially led 5-2 in the first set and maintained control until MVNU turned the tide with four consecutive points, ultimately winning 25-23. The momentum carried into the second set, which MVNU claimed 25-22. In the third set, MVNU dominated from start to finish, completing the sweep with a 25-20 victory.

Libby Evanshine was instrumental for MVNU with 11 kills, four digs, and two blocks. Morgan Schlabach matched her with 11 kills and added five digs. Faith Maloney contributed ten kills and two digs, while Evelyn Brown had nine kills. Reagan Nuss excelled with 36 assists, 13 digs, and five kills. Jaelyn Tang also recorded 13 digs.

MVNU will host Marian University in the Crossroads League Tournament Semifinals on November 12 at Ariel Arena.
