Food For The Hungry Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk
Join the community for the 15th Annual Food For The Hungry Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 27, from 9-11 a.m. at Mount Vernon Nazarene University, 800 Martinsburg Road, Mount Vernon. Hosted by WeRunMV, this family-friendly event welcomes runners and walkers of all ages—including leashed dogs—for a fun and charitable start to Thanksgiving Day. Admission is free; participants are encouraged to bring monetary or non-perishable food donations to support Food For The Hungry of Knox County. Registration opens at 8:00 a.m., with parking available near the R.R. Hodges Chapel/Auditorium. Restrooms and the Chapel foyer will be open. Come move, give, and celebrate the season of gratitude with your community.

Experience the magic of the season at the Mount Vernon Annual Holiday Parade 2025, happening Sunday, Nov. 30, from 4-5 p.m. in Downtown Mount Vernon at 1 Public Square, Mount Vernon. Organized by Experience Mount Vernon and proudly sponsored by Burrata Woodfired, this year’s enchanting theme, “Once Upon a Holiday,” brings beloved holiday books and stories to life through creative floats, festive music, and dazzling displays. Families, friends, and visitors are invited to gather around the Public Square to celebrate community spirit and the joy of the holidays. Come early to find a great viewing spot and enjoy the lights, laughter, and magic of Mount Vernon’s most heartwarming annual tradition.
