Carol Garner named new president of the Schnormeier Gardens Foundation

The Schnormeier Gardens Foundation has elected Carol Garner as its new president, bringing with her years of experience in nonprofit, cultural, and civic leadership. 

Garner brings a distinguished record of service, including her tenure as CEO of the Columbus Council on World Affairs and as a Governor-appointed trustee of the Ohioana Library Association. She co-founded the Chagos Conservation Trust US and previously led development efforts at Knox Community Hospital, where she helped establish the Medical Pavilion. Her work also includes leading educational tours to Cuba and championing causes in the arts, education, and international understanding.

“Carol’s deep commitment to community, her refined sense of ceremony, and her passion for honoring tradition make her the ideal person to guide the Foundation,” Ted Schnormeier said. “Her leadership and our board of committed volunteers, will ensure that the Gardens continue to inspire peace, harmony, and harmony for generations to come.”

Garner, who expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to lead and a deep commitment to honoring the Schnormeiers’ vision by preserving the Gardens as a place of peace, harmony, and inspiration for all who visit, also emphasized the enduring impact of the founders' vision. 

“I am deeply honored to serve as President of the Schnormeier Gardens Foundation,” Garner said. “These gardens are a living testament to the power of vision, stewardship, and community set forth by Ann and Ted Schnormeier.  I look forward to working with Ted, our dedicated board, and volunteers to ensure that this treasured space continues to preserve Ann and Ted’s vision to create a space of Peace, Harmony and Serenity that will inspire and uplift all who visit.”

Nestled in Gambier, Ohio, Schnormeier Gardens is a privately maintained estate celebrated for its tranquil landscapes and cultural design influences.
