The 25th Annual Christmas Walk and Charity Auction will take place Saturday, Dec. 6, from 4 to 7 p.m. in downtown Fredericktown, offering family-friendly festivities while raising funds for local organizations.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Fredericktown Interchurch, the Fredericktown Salvation Army, and the Fredericktown Community Relief Fund. The celebration will feature live and virtual auctions, musical performances, children’s activities, and holiday shopping opportunities.
The evening begins at the town gazebo with the official lighting of the Christmas tree and music from the Fredericktown High School choirs. Visitors can then stroll through downtown to enjoy indoor and outdoor entertainment, wagon rides to Sockman Park, and visits with Santa and his reindeer.
Children’s activities include ornament making and crafts at the Baptist Church, cardmaking at the Presbyterian Church, and a photo booth for family portraits. Contests such as gingerbread house decorating at The Shoppe on Main and a Christmas tree decorating competition will also be held.
Local businesses along Main Street will be open for holiday shopping, and vendors will be set up at the Presbyterian Church. The event’s theme, “Small-Town Christmas,” is reflected in this year’s commemorative ornament featuring the Fredericktown fireplace. Ornaments are available in advance through TD Landscape or at the vendor exhibits during the event.
The live Scrumptious Food Auction will be held in the Council Chambers, with donations accepted from 3 to 5:30 p.m. on the day of the event. Families, churches, and organizations are encouraged to contribute baskets, services, or gift certificates.
The virtual auction will run Nov. 28 through Dec. 3, with item pickup scheduled for Dec. 6 between 3 and 5:30 p.m. at the Council Chambers. Donations for the virtual auction must be dropped off Nov. 10–19 at the Fredericktown Local Schools Administration Building.
