The Newark City School District applauds its students for their exemplary conduct.

This month, 31 students and their families are being celebrated across the district as October’s Citizens of the Month, "for doing the right thing," according to an announcement.

The distinguished families were celebrated at a luncheon event sponsored by The Midland Theatre and Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral Home. Guests were treated to a performance by Newark High School’s Sinfonia Orchestra. 

"Congratulations to all of our students who were honored during the October 2025 event," the district said in its news release.
