The Knox County Chamber of Commerce has shared a heartfelt tribute to Karen Buchwald Wright, whose passing marks a profound loss for the Mount Vernon Community.

"The Knox County Chamber of Commerce is deeply saddened by the passing of Karen Buchwald Wright," the Chamber expressed in its tribute.

The Chamber described Wright as a visionary leader and a passionate advocate. She played an instrumental role in shaping the region's growth and vitality. Her unwavering commitment to excellence and her generous spirit left an indelible mark on the lives of many.

Wright's influence extended far beyond business; she was a catalyst for community development, a mentor to many, and a steadfast supporter of initiatives that uplifted others. Her impact is not only etched in the progress of Mount Vernon but also in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know and work alongside her.

"Karen’s legacy will continue to inspire all of us who had the privilege to know and work with her," the Chamber added. "Our hearts are with her family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time."

Her passing is deeply felt within the community. 

The Ohio Chamber of Commerce also joined in mourning her loss, recognizing her as a transformative leader whose vision and generosity elevated communities throughout Ohio.

Wright was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2019 Knox County Chamber of Commerce Awards Dinner.
