The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's soccer team faced a challenging match against Indiana Wesleyan University, ranked sixth nationally. The game took place at CH4 Stadium on October 15. The Lady Cougars held their ground in the first half, keeping the score tied at 0-0 against the Wildcats.
In the second half, Indiana Wesleyan broke through with a penalty kick after a handball in the box during the 73rd minute. They secured their victory with another goal in the 85th minute, resulting in a 2-0 win over Mount Vernon Nazarene University.
Hannah Miller, MVNU's goalkeeper, made an impressive 19 saves despite the loss. Indiana Wesleyan had a total of 35 shots, with 21 on target. In contrast, MVNU managed nine shots, three of which were on goal. Alexis Hoffman and Meghan Moser contributed to these attempts for the Lady Cougars.
Looking ahead, MVNU will play against Taylor University on October 18 in Upland, Indiana. The match is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m.
