Mount Vernon Nazarene University is set to host the 2025 Tragedy into Triumph Live Simulcast from November 3 to 5. The event will take place at the R.R. Hodges Chapel/Auditorium and will begin each night at 7 p.m., with doors opening an hour earlier. Admission is free.
Tragedy into Triumph aims to provide hope, renewal, and transformation through faith, reaching over half a million people globally. Wendell Brown, CEO and Founder of Tragedy into Triumph, expressed enthusiasm about bringing the event to MVNU. "Part of the human condition is that we will all struggle at some point in our lives," he said. "Since 2009, our desire has been to help people find hope for their lives through hearing stories of transformation."
The event will feature worship led by Josh Brown and a different speaker each night sharing personal stories of overcoming adversity. On Monday, November 3, Coach Mark Richt will discuss perseverance through Parkinson’s Disease. Riley Gaines will speak on Tuesday about maintaining her faith and values as a 12-time All-American swimmer. Michael Oher will conclude the series on Wednesday by recounting his journey from poverty to becoming an NFL Super Bowl champion.
For children in Kindergarten through sixth grade, there will be a separate service focusing on the biblical story of Joseph. Childcare for ages 18 months to two years will also be available.
