McDonald's restaurants across Ohio are set to contribute 10 percent of their digital sales to local high school athletics on October 23. This initiative, known as the High School Sports Digital Fundraiser Day, will benefit 273 schools in the region, including Mount Vernon High School.

This marks the third year that Ohio schools are participating in this fundraising event. The program was initiated by McDonald's owner/operators in Ohio as a means to support high school sports within their communities. Each locally owned McDonald's has selected a high school to receive donations from digital sales made through the McDonald’s app on the designated day. Each participating school is guaranteed a minimum donation of $250.

"We are proud to be continuing this partnership with our local schools," said Brian Mortellaro, a McDonald’s Owner/Operator. "We’ve seen lots of success with the fundraiser in our restaurants and have received great feedback from schools, too. Our hope is that the local communities will continue to come out and support their local schools, and help us make the High School Digital Fundraiser Day a success throughout the state."

The McDonald’s app can be downloaded from both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. It offers exclusive deals, allows customers to order ahead with Mobile Order & Pay, and provides access to MyMcDonald’s Rewards for earning points redeemable for free items. Customers can also customize their orders according to personal preferences.
