The Mount Vernon Nazarene University baseball team split a fall ball doubleheader against Ohio Christian University on Saturday, October 11, at Cougar Field. The series began with Ohio Christian taking an early lead by scoring four runs in the first inning. Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) responded in the third inning with three runs, initiated by Alejandro Delgado's solo home run. Ryan Willoughby and Connor Estep also contributed to narrowing the gap.

In the fifth inning, Peyton Simmons tied the game for MVNU with a sacrifice fly that brought Brady Lester home. However, Ohio Christian regained control by scoring five consecutive runs, leading to a 9-5 victory over MVNU in the first game.

The second game saw MVNU bounce back with an 8-2 win. Reese Willoughby delivered an impressive performance on the mound, pitching six scoreless innings and allowing only four hits while striking out eight batters. Kaid Carpenter led the Cougars' offense with two hits and two RBIs. Rider Minnick and Brennen Nichols each drove in two runs as well.

This doubleheader marks the end of MVNU's fall ball season. The team will prepare for its spring season opener against Bethel University on February 27 in Melbourne, Florida.
