Northridge Local Schools is proud to spotlight Sean Smith, Principal of Northridge Middle School, as part of its National Principals Month celebration.
With 34 years of service in education, the school district underscores that Smith's career reflects a deep commitment to student growth, staff support, and community leadership. He has served in five districts and held a wide range of roles, including teacher, coach to Dean of Students, athletic director, assistant principal, and principal.
Smith's journey with Northridge began three years ago, and his contributions have resonated throughout the school community.
In a recent Facebook tribute, Northridge Local Schools wrote, “Mr. Smith’s dedication, leadership, and care for students and staff make a lasting impact every day. Thank you, Mr. Smith, for your passion for education and your commitment to the Viking community!”
In May 2025, Northridge Local Schools honored Smith’s retirement milestone, recognizing his 33 years of distinguished service in education. While the occasion marked a significant career achievement, it also brought exciting news: Smith would continue serving as Principal of Northridge Middle School through a retire-and-rehire arrangement.
The announcement was met with heartfelt appreciation from the community. One comment on Facebook captured the sentiment: “You’ve built a family of staff and students who love middle school—so thankful you are sticking with us even after retirement!”
Throughout October, Northridge Local Schools will continue to honor principals from each building, highlighting the individuals who lead with purpose and passion.
