The East Knox Board of Education will hold its regular meeting on October 9, 2025, at 6:00 PM in the Elementary Cafeteria. The session is intended for conducting school district business, with a designated time for public participation.
Lindsay Bush, the board president, will initiate the meeting by leading the Pledge of Allegiance and reading the vision, mission, and core values of the East Knox Local School District. These emphasize community partnership in preparing students for lifelong success.
The agenda includes a recommendation to approve minutes from the previous meeting held on September 11, 2025. Additionally, financial matters such as approving the September Monthly Financial Report and engaging audit services from the Auditor of State’s Office are set to be discussed. The treasurer will also present a financial forecast to be submitted to the Department of Education and Workforce by October 15.
Superintendent recommendations involve updates to Neola policies and approval of an overnight field trip for a Student Leadership Summit scheduled for November 7-8 at John Glenn High School in New Concord, Ohio. The board will also consider a pledge to pay $1,000 annually to the Knox County Area Development Foundation from 2026 through 2028.
Personnel matters include approvals for after-school programming at both junior/senior high schools and elementary levels. This program will run three days a week from October 14, 2025, through April 30, 2026. Teachers have been recommended for these roles with costs covered by Federal School Improvement and Support Grants.
Other personnel actions include approving Allison Bennett as a part-time Elementary PBIS Advisor following Kailee Wallace's resignation from that position. Stacy Futo is recommended for employment as a custodian retroactive to September 22, while Julia Kelly is proposed as Jr./Sr. High School Testing Coordinator.
Finally, several substitute teachers have been approved by KCESC Board along with other staff assignments related to ACT prep classes and academic coaching funded by school improvement grants.
The meeting will conclude with an adjournment motion.
