The Licking County Commission has accepted a $543,000 bid to construct a garage at the wastewater treatment plant. The decision was made during its meeting on October 2, with Robertson Construction Services of Heath, Ohio, being awarded the contract.

According to a report from county consultant Verdantas, "Verdantas has checked the bids for mathematical errors and prepared a bid tabulation. Two legitimate bids were received, and while both were over the engineer’s estimate of $525,000.00, they were within the allowable threshold of up to 20% higher." This information was detailed in the commission's updated meeting agenda.

The agenda also noted that Country View Construction submitted a legitimate bid for $551,377. A third firm, Stonegate Development Group, submitted a base bid amount of $518,000 but did not meet other requirements set by the county. These included acknowledging addenda to the bid document and completing necessary forms such as the bid bond.

The project involves constructing a new 4,800 square foot, four-bay garage with all required structural, electrical, and site work. Bids for this project were opened on September 16 and reviewed by Verdantas. The firm is an integrated environmental science, engineering, and consulting company with one of its offices located in Newark, Ohio.
