Evening of Celebration for All Things Green | Ariel-Foundation Park Conservancy

An event celebrating local conservation efforts is set to take place at Ariel-Foundation Park on Thursday, October 9. The free community gathering will be held at the Schnormeier Event Center and will include live music, food, and socializing. The festivities are scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m., with a concert beginning an hour later.

The evening will mark several milestones: the 10th anniversary of Ariel-Foundation Park, as well as the 25th anniversaries of Owl Creek Conservancy and Philander Chase Conservancy. Other organizations to be recognized include the Knox County Park District, Brown Family Environmental Center, Kokosing Nature Preserve, and Habitat for Humanity.

Vaughn Wiester & The Famous Jazz Orchestra will headline the event. Wiester, a Mount Vernon native known for his work as a trombonist, arranger, and educator, leads the orchestra. They are noted for their big-band sound and interpretations of jazz standards. Vocalist Rachel Sepulveda will join them. Originally from New York, Sepulveda moved to Columbus in 2003 to study jazz and has since performed internationally.

Food options available from 5:00 p.m. include Pancho’s Tacos, Grindhouse Barbecue, and Roundhill Dairy. A bar offering beer and wine will be provided by The Alcove Restaurant.

The event is organized by Ariel-Foundation Park Conservancy.
