Mount Vernon Nazarene University's women's volleyball team, ranked 16th nationally, secured a victory against 23rd-ranked Spring Arbor University in a match held at Ariel Arena on September 27. The team from Mount Vernon swept their opponents, marking their fifth consecutive sweep this season.
The match began with MVNU taking the first set decisively at 25-10. They maintained momentum in the second set, winning 25-13. Although Spring Arbor posed more of a challenge in the third set, MVNU clinched it with a close score of 25-23. This win added to MVNU's record, bringing them to a total of 15 wins for the season.
Evelyn Brown was instrumental in the victory with 15 kills and a .750 hitting percentage, alongside two blocks. Faith Maloney contributed eight kills with a .412 hitting percentage, while Libby Evanshine added six kills. Reagan Nuss made significant contributions with 33 assists, three digs, two kills, and one service ace. Jaelyn Tang matched for the highest number of digs in the match with ten.
Looking ahead, MVNU is set to host the University of Saint Francis on October 1 at Ariel Arena. The game will commence at 7:00 p.m.
