The Knox County Historical Society is set to host its third program of the autumn season on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. The event will feature author Mark Jordan, who will discuss several local mysteries that are also covered in his upcoming book, "In These Haunted Hills: Ghosts of the Ohio Highlands." Jordan plans to focus on local stories and share photographs related to them.

The presentation will delve into the folklore surrounding Sarah’s Grave near Greer, Susie’s Grave between Mount Vernon and Fredericktown, and the ghosts of Kenyon College. If time permits, Jordan may also touch upon three chapters about Malabar Farm. Known for his work as a history columnist for KnoxPages and his previous role as an entertainment critic for the former Mount Vernon News, Jordan has extensive experience in the area. He has also led tours at Malabar Farm State Park and written plays about notable figures associated with Malabar.

The event will take place at the museum located at 875 Harcourt Road in Mount Vernon. It begins at 7:30 PM and is free to attend. The society invites all those interested in regional history to join. Historical Society officials will be available before and after the program to welcome attendees to explore the museum's regular exhibits.

Looking ahead, the final program of the year is scheduled for Wednesday, November 5, featuring a "Show and Tell Night." More details will be released later in October. For additional information about upcoming events or visiting hours, visit www.knoxhistory.org or call 740-393-5247.
