Lady Cougars place third among NAIA teams at All-Ohio Meet

The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's cross country team participated in the All-Ohio Meet at Cedarville University on September 19. Competing against various colleges and universities, the Lady Cougars finished 15th out of 20 teams and third among NAIA competitors with a score of 358. Cedarville University secured first place.

Individual performances for MVNU included Tammy Liplin finishing 50th with a time of 23:39.4, followed by Ashley Yoder in 92nd place at 24:26.7, and Louisa Hallabrin in 96th at 24:33.1. Other notable finishes were Raelyn Barrett in 113th, Julia Kanagy in 125th, and Lauren Warder in 133rd.

Coach Taylor expressed satisfaction with the team's performance despite challenging hot temperatures during the race. "I was proud of the effort our women gave at All-Ohio," said Taylor. "They had to deal with hot temperatures throughout their race which isn't easy." He praised the teamwork displayed by the runners and their execution of the race plan.

Looking ahead, the Lady Cougars are set to compete next at the OWU Invite hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University on October 3.
