Evanshine hits milestone as MVNU falls to Indiana Wesleyan

The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's volleyball team faced a challenging match against Indiana Wesleyan University on September 17. The No. 16 ranked MVNU team was defeated by the No. 7 ranked IWU in three sets, with scores of 20-25, 12-25, and 24-26.

Despite the loss, junior outside hitter Libby Evanshine achieved a personal milestone by reaching her 1,000th career kill during the match. Evanshine recorded a match-high of 13 kills with a hitting percentage of .238. Faith Maloney contributed significantly with 11 kills and a hitting percentage of .429, along with two blocks. Reagan Nuss supported the team with 31 assists, six digs, two kills, and two blocks. Jaelyn Tang led the defense for MVNU with 11 digs.

The Lady Cougars will next play at Indiana University East in Richmond on Friday, September 19, at 6:00 p.m.
