Mount Vernon Parks and Recreation invites families and film lovers to a free community movie at the Hiawatha Water Park located at 100 Sychar Road, Mount Vernon. Moana 2 will be screened at the green space between the softball fields and sand volleyball court, on Saturday, Oct. 4.
The movie begins at approximately 7:30 p.m. and runs until 9:00 p.m. Moviegoers are encouraged to bring their own chairs, blankets, and cozy gear, as seating will not be provided. No registration or fees are required to watch the movie. The community can sit back and relax and enjoy Moana's adventure.
Set three years after Moana’s original journey to restore the heart of Te Fiti, the story follows her continued exploration of nearby islands in search of others who share her deep connection to the ocean.
Moana 2 opened in U.S. cinemas on Nov. 27, 2024, and instantly made big waves. It featured the voices of Auliʻi Cravalho as Moana and Dwayne Johnson as the charismatic demigod Maui.
“Moana 2 has far surpassed our high expectations this weekend and is a testament to the phenomenon that Moana has become,” Alan Bergman, co-chairman, Disney Entertainment, said during the movie's first week of screening. “We’re fortunate to have an incredibly talented and hard-working creative team at Disney Animation who brought this new adventure to life, alongside our wonderful stars Auli‘i and Dwayne and great new music. This is a moment to celebrate, and we’re thankful to all the moviegoers and fans who’ve helped make this a record-breaking debut.”
