Parking restrictions will be in place on the interior of Public Square in Mount Vernon due to sidewalk and curb work. The affected area is between High Street and Main Street, with no parking allowed from September 14, 2025, at 11:00 PM until September 19, 2025, at 11:00 PM.
The City of Mount Vernon has said that while the road remains open for emergency and local traffic, drivers should exercise caution in the construction zone. "The square is open to all traffic and care will need to be heeded while driving in this area due to construction," a representative from the Street Department commented.
