The East Knox Board of Education will hold its regular meeting on September 11, 2025, at the elementary cafeteria. The meeting will be led by Board President Lindsay Bush, who is expected to begin proceedings with the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence to honor the victims of the 9/11 tragedy.

The board is scheduled to approve the agenda as presented. During public participation, attendees will be reminded to refer to Board Policy #0169.1 for guidelines.

Treasurer recommendations include approval of minutes from the August 14 meeting, although Bush is expected to abstain from voting on this matter. The board will also review financial reports and budgetary amendments for various funds, including Student Activity and Title I.

Superintendent recommendations feature several key decisions. The October board meeting will be rescheduled to October 9 due to new financial forecast filing requirements by October 15. A transportation contract with Shannon Fair is expected to be approved retroactively for a student transport service deemed impractical by district standards.

The board will also consider accepting a quote from Mickley Plumbing and Heating for $10,750 to replace two AC units in the fieldhouse. Approval is anticipated for FFA overnight field trips to West Springfield, MA, and Indianapolis, IN.

Personnel recommendations include appointing Roxanna Burch as a CBI route driver and approving supplemental payments for LPDC members. Weston Melick is slated for contract approval as Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach. Additional substitute teachers and van drivers from the Knox ESC list are expected to be approved.

A $1,000 retention incentive is also on the agenda for non-teaching or administrative employees who completed their contract year in 2024-2025 and remain employed through 2025-2026. Reese is expected to abstain from this vote.

The session is scheduled to conclude with an executive session under Ohio Revised Code 121.22 (G) (2) – (6) regarding property purchase considerations.
