The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's volleyball team, ranked 15th nationally, triumphed over the 22nd-ranked Taylor University in a match held at Ariel Arena. The Lady Cougars improved their record to 8-4 overall and 1-1 in the Crossroads League.
Taylor University initially led the first set, but Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) managed to tie it at 22-22 before Taylor closed out the set. The momentum shifted in favor of MVNU during the second and third sets, with scores of 25-16 and 25-14 respectively. The Lady Cougars then dominated the final set with a decisive 25-7 victory.
Libby Evanshine led MVNU with 20 kills, while Morgan Schlabach contributed 13. Reagan Nuss provided crucial support with 49 assists. On defense, Faith Maloney and Jaelyn Tang each recorded 16 digs.
The Lady Cougars are scheduled to face Huntington University next at Ariel Arena on Wednesday, September 10, starting at 7:00 p.m.
