The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's volleyball team secured a decisive victory against Shawnee State, winning 3-0 in an away match on Friday, September 5. The Lady Cougars, now holding a 7-4 record, dominated the first set with 14 kills, concluding it at 25-15. Despite Shawnee State's efforts in the second set, MVNU maintained their lead with a score of 25-21. The third set saw MVNU finishing strong at 25-14.

Faith Maloney was instrumental for the Lady Cougars with 14 kills, while Evelyn Brown contributed 11 kills. Jaelyn Tang achieved 15 digs and Raegan Nuss provided 33 assists during the match.

Looking ahead, the Lady Cougars are set to host No. 22 Taylor University for their second Crossroads League match on Saturday, September 6. The game will take place at Ariel Arena at 3:00 p.m.
