Mount Vernon Nazarene University's tennis teams prepare for new season under Coach Jeff Bane

The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's and women's tennis teams are gearing up for the 2025 fall season. Head Coach Jeff Bane, now in his fourth year, will lead both teams. The men's team sees the return of sophomore Ryan Almovodar, sophomore Blake Boyer, junior Matt Easter, and senior Noah Hill. The women's team welcomes back sophomore Alanna Reyes, sophomore Andi Green, sophomore Maria Cottenden, and junior Deah Bresson.

Coach Bane has also recruited new talent for both teams. For the men's team, freshmen Nathan Fitzpatrick from Yreka, California, and CJ Danemayer from Cincinnati, Ohio are expected to make immediate impacts. On the women's side, freshmen Liz Hughes from New Lebanon, Ohio, and Annie Mahek from Shelby, Ohio have joined to add depth to the squad.

Both teams will commence their season with a home match against Capital University at the Ramser Tennis Courts on Saturday, September 6 at 10:00 a.m.

Mount Vernon Nazarene University is a private Christian institution offering education to nearly 2,100 students across various programs. It is located on a 327-acre campus in Mount Vernon, Ohio.
