Mount Vernon Nazarene University's women's volleyball team, ranked No. 15, faced a challenging match against Bethel University Pilots on Wednesday, September 3. The game took place at MVNU's Ariel Arena, where the Lady Cougars initially secured a victory in the first set with a score of 25-17.
However, Bethel University turned the tide by winning the next two sets, 25-17 and 25-19. In the final set, despite an early lead by MVNU, Bethel managed to clinch a narrow win with a 23-25 finish. This marked MVNU's first league loss of the season.
Faith Maloney stood out for MVNU with her performance at the net, achieving 14 kills and two blocks. Reagan Nuss also contributed significantly with 37 assists, 15 digs, and four kills.
Looking ahead, the Lady Cougars are scheduled to play against Shawnee State University in Portsmouth, Ohio on Friday, September 5 at 6:00 p.m.
