Kinsey Duzan, a senior at Northridge High School, is on the path to achieving her Olympic dream in shooting sports. Despite the challenging odds of becoming an Olympian for the United States, estimated at less than 0.02 percent, Duzan has demonstrated her potential by earning a place on the Scholastic Clay Target Program’s International Team. This team serves as a development platform for USA Shooting.

Duzan's recent performance at USA Shooting’s National Championship secured her a spot among four American women competing at the International Shooting Sport Federation’s Junior World Cup in New Delhi, India. The event will take place from September 21 to October 2 and feature competitors from 84 countries.

Her journey began five years ago when she started shooting clay targets in her grandparents' backyard. By age 12, she had already made a name for herself by winning the Ohio State Trapshooting Association Intermediate Entry Ladies Division in her first year of competition. Since then, she has accumulated over 65 wins across various national, state, and regional events.

In addition to being selected for the SCTP International Team, Duzan is also part of the All-American Trapshooting Team and other prestigious teams within Ohio. She placed seventh in this year's USA Shooting National Championship, narrowly missing out on joining the junior team by two targets.

At the upcoming Junior World Cup, Duzan will compete in Olympic trap using her Beretta 694 Vittoria shotgun. She aims for her first podium finish on this global stage and looks forward to potentially representing the United States at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Reflecting on her achievements and future goals, Duzan said: "I am extremely lucky to be able to enjoy the sport that I am so passionate about while being given the opportunity to represent the United States on the world stage in India. This is just one more step towards achieving my goal of representing the USA at the Olympics and seeing all my hard work pay off."
