Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) recently held its annual University Faculty & Staff Dinner, recognizing the achievements and dedication of its faculty and staff. The event highlighted the contributions of individuals who have demonstrated commitment to MVNU's mission and values.

Dr. Judy Gregg and Esther Carpenter were awarded the 2024-25 Employee of the Year Award for their exceptional service and adherence to the university's Christlike principles. Additionally, Dr. Daryl Gruver received the Lloyd Taylor Lifetime Achievement Award, which honors retired faculty members for their wisdom and faithful service. Dennis Hoffman was recognized with the Novice Morris Award for his career marked by integrity and hospitality.

This year, MVNU introduced two new awards: The Ginny Cameron Joyful Legacy Award, named in memory of Dr. Ginny Cameron, was given to Rachel Neal for her embodiment of joy and compassion. Dr. Pheba George received The Spirit of Excellence Award for her exemplary standards in service and integrity.

The dinner also celebrated employees reaching significant service milestones at MVNU, ranging from five to forty years. Each honoree received a commemorative gift corresponding to their years of service.

Dr. Carson Castleman, President of MVNU, delivered a keynote address outlining "The MVNU Way," emphasizing principles such as conviction, conversation, care, and connection as foundational to shaping the university's culture. He encouraged faculty and staff to embrace these values as they move into the new academic year.
