MVNU women's volleyball team concludes AMFM Tournament with win over St. Francis

Mount Vernon Nazarene University's women's volleyball team, ranked 14th, concluded the AMFM Tournament with a victory over St. Francis (Ill.) on August 30. The tournament was hosted by Taylor University. The Lady Cougars first faced Missouri Baptist, ranked 19th, and lost in straight sets with scores of 25-22, 25-22, and 25-20. Faith Maloney led MVNU with 13 kills while Libby Evanshine contributed 10. Reagan Nuss recorded 32 assists and seven digs.

In their second match against St. Francis, MVNU achieved a sweep with set scores of 25-14, 25-18, and 25-13. Evelyn Brown had a match-high of 10 kills; Maloney added nine kills and nine digs. Jaelyn Tang led the defense with a match-high of 14 digs. Nuss finished this match with 31 assists, five digs, and two blocks.

The Lady Cougars will begin conference play against Bethel University at Ariel Arena on September 3 at 6:00 p.m.
