The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's soccer team secured a decisive 6-0 victory against Siena Heights University on Wednesday at CH4 Stadium. This win marked MVNU's second consecutive victory of the season, bringing their record to 2-0.
MVNU began the match with a strong offensive push, scoring two goals within the first five minutes. Senior captain Micah Post netted his first career goal at the two-minute mark, assisted by Miguel Bello. Shortly after, Luka Vojinovic scored his first career goal with another assist from Bello.
In the second half, Reid Vance extended MVNU's lead to 3-0 with an unassisted goal in the 60th minute. Chucho Salgado added to the tally with his first career goal in the 72nd minute, assisted by Vojinovic. Vojinovic then scored again in the 76th minute, assisted by Baba Sarr, who also found the net immediately afterward with help from Bello.
Goalkeeper Brayden Pierson kept Siena Heights scoreless throughout the match, recording nine saves over 90 minutes. MVNU dominated offensively, outshooting their opponents 27-13 and placing 18 shots on target.
Looking ahead, MVNU will face Olivet Nazarene University in Illinois on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
