The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's soccer team secured a 2-0 victory over Cleary University at Lake Trust Stadium. The match, held on Wednesday, August 27, saw the Lady Cougars improve their record to 2-0, while Cleary fell to 0-2.

After a goalless first half, Alexis Hoffman scored her third goal of the season in the 48th minute to give MVNU the lead. Ally Martini extended the advantage with her first career goal in the 72nd minute. Goalkeeper Hannah Miller played a crucial role in maintaining the shutout, making three saves and surpassing 300 career saves during the match.

MVNU dominated offensively, outshooting Cleary 17-6 and holding a shots-on-goal advantage of 10-3.

Looking ahead, MVNU will continue its non-conference schedule against West Virginia Tech at CH4 Stadium on Saturday, August 30. The game is set to kick off at 4:00 p.m.
