MVNU men's soccer wins season opener against Bluffton

The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's soccer team secured a 4-0 victory against Bluffton University in their season opener at CH4 Stadium. Baba Sarr scored the first goal for MVNU in the 19th minute, assisted by Chucho Salgado. The team's defense maintained a 1-0 lead into halftime.

In the second half, Miguel Bello added two goals in the 53rd and 60th minutes, marking his first career goals with assists from Sarr and Max Walker. Dante Cooper scored the final goal in the 79th minute, also his first career goal. MVNU dominated with 24 shots compared to Bluffton's three, with Brayden Pierson making one save to secure the shutout.

Kaleb Blevins celebrated his first win as head coach of MVNU. The team will next face Siena Heights University on Wednesday, August 27, at CH4 Stadium.
