The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's soccer team is set to begin its 2025 fall season on Saturday, August 23, at CH4 Stadium. They will face Shawnee State University in their opening match. Last season, the team finished with an overall record of 6-7-4 and reached the Crossroads League Tournament Quarterfinals.
Key players returning this season include senior Alexis Hoffman, who was the leading goal scorer for MVNU last year with nine goals and a .538 shot on goal percentage. Hoffman received First Team honors in the Crossroads League. Junior Bekah Blair will also be back to contribute to the offense after scoring four goals and providing two assists last season. Senior Hannah Miller returns as the starting goalkeeper, having made 99 saves with a .805 save percentage and achieving seven shutouts in 2024. Miller earned Honorable Mention Honors from the Crossroads League.
Hoffman, Blair, and Miller were recognized for their academic achievements by being named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team. The team will be led by captains Hoffman and senior Meghan Moser.
Head Coach Sarah Maracani has added five freshmen to the roster: defender Claire Haas from Smithville, Ohio; defender Emmie Hoffman from Fairfield, Ohio; forward Sofia Terrell from Indianapolis, Indiana; midfielder Chloe Montague-Himmell from Zionsville, Indiana; and midfielder Becca Drew from Dayton, Ohio.
