Mount Vernon Nazarene University's men's soccer team is set to begin its 2025 fall season at CH4 Stadium, facing Bluffton University on Saturday, August 23. The team concluded the previous season with an overall record of 6-6-6 and a conference record of 3-4-2, reaching the Crossroads League Tournament Quarterfinals.
Kaleb Blevins steps into his first year as head coach at MVNU, bringing in a large class of freshmen with promising talent. Among the new players are Max Walker from Lebanon, Ohio; Luka Vojinovic from Herford, Germany; Arnar Páll from Kópavogur, Iceland; Baba Sarr from Milan, Italy; Jack Reagor from California, Kentucky; Hayden Feathers from Hilliard, Ohio; Angemy Jodson Delsonat from Gonaïves, Haiti; Eli Nicholas from Gambier, Ohio; Braden Buckingham from Gahanna, Ohio; Elkana Maier from Pfullingen, Germany; and Jasper Mavimba.
The team also added several transfers: junior Peter Donnan from Glasgow, Scotland; sophomore Baba Sarr from Milan, Italy; sophomore Juan David Echeverri from Bogotá, Colombia; graduate Miguel Bello from Madrid, Spain; junior Sazi Milazi from Randburg, Gauteng; junior Valentine Ezendu from Senigallia, Italy; senior Martin Matsekh from Dublin, Ireland; sophomore Yohelk Cubillo from San José, Costa Rica; junior Matias Del Solar from Lima, Peru; and sophomore Diogo Bento from Vila Nova da Barquinha, Santarém.
Sophomore Brayden Pierson returns after a notable freshman season where he earned Honorable Mention recognition in the Crossroads League. He recorded 63 saves with a save percentage of .863 last season. Other returning players include senior Micah Post and juniors Dany Chassin and Chucho Salgado.
While integrating new players and establishing key offensive strategies remain priorities for Coach Blevins and his team this season, they are optimistic about their prospects in the Crossroads League in 2025.
