Expert tips offered on fall gardening in Mount Vernon

Sabrina Schirtzinger from Knox County's OSU Extension Office will lead a discussion on late-season gardening at the Public Library of Mount Vernon & Knox County. The event, scheduled for Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., aims to provide guidance on extending the growing season into fall. Participants will learn about selecting and cultivating second crops and the potential benefits of using cover crops.

This free event is open to the public and designed primarily for adults, although all ages are welcome. Master Gardeners will also be present to address various questions related to late-season gardening and plant care.
