Teen MakerSpace at the Main Library has announced new hours for the school year, welcoming students from grades 6 to 12. The space will be open Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from noon to 4:45 p.m. It will remain closed on Sundays. The library is offering several free programs for teens this fall, including snacks and beverages, though it cannot accommodate allergies.
A Teen Video Game Night is scheduled at the Main Library's Multipurpose Room on August 25 and September 29, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Teens can bring their own games or use available equipment like gaming PCs, Oculus Quests, a Nintendo Switch, an Xbox One, and a digital board game table.
On September 15, the library will host a Teen Board Game Night featuring games such as Smash Up Munchkins and Mazes Disney Trivia in the Multipurpose Room from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The Teen Writing Program will run Thursdays from September 18 to November 20 at The Annex between 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., offering activities like poetry writing, homework help, story editing, and more for young creatives aged 13-18.
Additionally, on September 22, a Teen MakerSpace Activity called Thread Trendz! will take place in the Multipurpose Room from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., where participants can create fashion pieces using various materials provided by the library.
