The Ohio State Highway Patrol's Mount Gilead Post has announced an OVI checkpoint scheduled for tonight. The checkpoint will take place from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on State Route 13 near Mount Vernon Avenue in Knox County. This initiative, funded by federal grants, aims to deter and intercept impaired drivers.
In addition to the checkpoint, nearby saturation patrols will be conducted to address impaired driver-related injuries and fatal crashes. The public is advised to arrange for a designated driver or make alternative travel plans if they intend to consume alcohol.
"Don’t let another life be lost for the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel impaired," said the announcement.
