Eighteen members of Morgan Grange enjoyed a potluck dinner prior to the monthly meeting on Friday, August 8, 2025. Master Will Smith presided over the meeting, and the opening song was Be Faithful, O Patron. The charter was draped in loving memory of Ron Hiltner.
Family Activities Chairwoman Cindy Campbell thanked everyone who contributed in any way to the Knox County Fair. Morgan’s fair booth won first place, and Cindy was recognized for the tremendous effort she and others invested in the fair displays.
Sue Roy presented a well-received program during the morning session of the recent Legislative Conference. At the same time, Jim McLaughlin gave an informative presentation on identity fraud and scammers in the afternoon. Morgan Grange recently served a luncheon for the Utica Senior Citizens.
A resolution opposing a dues increase to the National Grange was read, and members voted to submit it to the Ohio State Grange office. Plans are underway to serve dinner to the bands at Ariel Foundation Park on Saturday, September 13. Morgan Grange will also operate a food stand at the Utica Homecoming from October 1 to 4. Additionally, members will provide dictionaries to third graders at Utica and Newton Elementary Schools through the Dictionary Project.
Concerns were expressed for Mary Bebout, Ned Campbell, and Barb Bower. Members celebrating birthdays include Ned Campbell, Oneta Debolt, and Kristie McVay. Couples marking anniversaries this month are John and Sue Bateman, Robert and Kristi McVay, and Randy and Rita Smith.
The closing song was Whither Thou Goest. Morgan members will meet again on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. Please bring your craft, needlework, and photography projects for judging at this meeting.
