Sixteen members of Morgan Grange #829 met for their monthly meeting on Friday, July 11, 2025, with Master Will Smith presiding. Roll call was taken, and the minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

Family Activities Chairwoman Cindy Campbell reported on several upcoming events for the members. On August 2, the Legislative Conference will be held at the State Grange office. Morgan will be cooking and serving the Utica Senior Citizens Luncheon on Monday, August 4. Members will gather again on Friday, August 8, for a potluck supper (bring a side or dessert), during which longtime members will be honored. Pomona Grange will meet on August 18 at Wayne Grange for the election of officers.

Looking ahead, Cindy reminded members that resolutions and committee reports are due to the state office by September 1. On September 13, Morgan will be providing meals for the two bands performing at Ariel Foundation Park. Members voted to operate a food stand in the Utica Fire House during the Utica Homecoming in October. The annual spaghetti dinner and auction will be held on November 15 at the Grange Hall. In July, Morgan will provide a free pop or water to Mount Vernon Developmental Center clients attending the Knox County Fair.

Concerns were expressed for Ron Hiltner and Marjorie Raines. Members celebrating birthdays this month include Cindy Campbell, Peg Carpenter, and Judy Williams. Jim and Dorothy Hughes are celebrating an anniversary.

Lecturer JoAnn Walton led a memorial service for Morgan’s deceased members since March 2020. JoAnn read the names of those who had passed, and Janet White read a memorial prayer. Bonnie Kohl offered a prayer and placed white flowers near the Bible in their memory. All members recited the Lord’s Prayer and closed the service with the hymn “Blest Be the Tie That Binds.”

Refreshments and fellowship followed the meeting.
