County Administrator David Edelblute | Licking County

The Licking County Board of Commissioners voted on July 3 to join the Regional Council of Governments for the Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging. They appointed County Administrator David Edelblute as their representative on the council.

According to the board's agenda for the July 3 meeting, the commissioners decided to join the council to collaborate with other members in the eight-county Central Ohio Designated Planning Service Area. This move aims to better serve older adults and individuals with disabilities. The Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging is transitioning from operating within Columbus to becoming a stand-alone regional council of governments.

Commissioners Rick Black, Timothy Bubb, and Duane Flowers voted to approve the resolution to join the regional council.

The commissioners also approved Edelblute's appointment as Licking County's representative on the Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging's council.

According to the Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging's website, the organization plans, funds, and delivers services to help older adults and individuals with disabilities remain safe and independent in their homes. The agency collaborates with area providers to arrange and coordinate services that assist individuals with daily living activities such as homemaking, home-delivered meals, transportation, personal care, and more. It manages services for 15,000 people and funds services for another 25,000 older adults across eight counties: Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Licking, Madison, Pickaway, and Union.
