The village of Utica put on its local, well-loved celebration for yet another Fourth of July in sparkling fashion.

The festivities weren’t limited to fireworks. Held in South End Park, just east of State Route 13, the celebration featured food trucks to feed the crowd, live music to enhance the atmosphere, and bounce houses to entertain the kids.

The fireworks began just before nightfall and lasted just over twenty minutes, accompanied by patriotic tunes playing in the background.

While families and children enjoyed the bounce houses and live music, the open field invited friends and loved ones to play games of their own. Many groups tossed around a ball, played card games, and simply enjoyed one another’s company.

Although the holiday is known for barbecue fare, the lineup of food trucks offered a range of options, including but not limited to “It’s Hog Gone Good,” serving up brats and shredded chicken; “C&E Pizza Factory,” offering pizza slices; and “Rolls By the Pound,” serving coffee and cinnamon rolls.

When the final fireworks lit up the night sky, the Utica Police Department directed traffic swiftly and efficiently—noticeably faster than in years past, despite the large crowd.

For Utica, the fireworks aren’t just a celebration of America’s independence. They are a chance for the community to come together and celebrate as one.
