Dan M. Nisley, 65, of Tiverton, Ohio passed away surrounded by his wife and children at the LifeCare Hospice Inpatient Unit on Friday, June 20, 2025 after a courageous 5-month battle with cancer.
He was born on February 15, 1960 to Mose A. and Ada C. (Yoder) Nisley. On October 22, 1981, he married Anna M. Shrock who survives.
Dan was a devoted member of the New Order Amish Church. He was employed as a welder at Troy Ridge Manufacturing.
Dan found great joy in life’s simple pleasures—fishing, reading, spending time with friends and shoeing horses. Most of all, he cherished time spent with his grandchildren.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, his children, grandchildren, and all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his wife Anna and his mother Ada, he is survived by his children, Cindy (Owen) Raber of Butler, Carrie (Marlin) Beachy of Danville, Katie (Marvin) Raber of Millersburg, Joseph (Lori) Nisley of Brinkhaven; 12 grandchildren; brothers, Henry (Rachel) of Butler, Mose Jr. (Ruth) of Danville, Ervin (Emma) of Hillsboro, WI, Crist (Mary) of Hillsboro, WI, Andy (Verna) of Howard, Monroe (Betty) of Butler, Reuben (Lois) Nisley of New York Mills, MN; sisters, Katie (Dennis) Miller of Butler, Barbra (Leon) Yoder of Hillsboro, WI, Ella (Mahlon) Hochstetler of Loudonville, Martha (Jr.) Miller of Fredericktown, Ada Mae Nisley of Butler; and sister-in-law, Sarann (late Roy) Nisley of Butler.
In addition to his father Mose, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Jesse Raber and brother, Roy Nisley.
Funeral services were held at the Toby Miller residence, 31495 CR 20, Brinkhaven, on Monday, June 23, at 9:00 AM with Bishop John Hostetler officiating. Burial will follow in the Miller Cemetery. Friends may call at the Toby Miller residence after 3 PM on Saturday and any time on Sunday.
