Mount Vernon City Schools offers summer lunch program for children

Mount Vernon City Schools is participating in the Summer Lunch Program, offering meals to children aged 18 months to 18 years. The lunches can be picked up at Dan Emmett and Pleasant Street Elementary Schools from Monday to Friday, between 11:30 A.M. and 12:30 P.M. This service will run from June 2nd to July 25th, with no service on July 4.

For over two decades, MVCSD food service staff has provided nutritious lunches to the children of Mount Vernon. "MVCSD serves all children between 18 months and 18 years of age, regardless of need," a spokesperson stated. Additionally, developmentally disabled students up to age 22 are eligible if they are enrolled in a school program during the school year.
